CLASS OF 2020

How has the coronavirus changed your senior year?

Congratulations to Our Winner—April!

Honorable Mentions You Should Watch

This challenge is now closed – THANK YOU to everyone who shared their stories, and congratulations to our winner!

For many college and high-school seniors in the graduating class of 2020, the coronavirus pandemic has dramatically changed your final year at your school. That might mean virtual graduation ceremonies, missing prom, or not getting your yearbook signed. It might also mean connecting with friends, family, and teachers in new and meaningful ways. Either way, the class of 2020 around the globe is experiencing an unprecedented event unlike any other graduating class in recent history.

So, we thought: let’s invite girls worldwide to share how the coronavirus pandemic has changed their senior year. We’ll share those messages publicly to document this historic moment in time and serve as a virtual yearbook for graduating seniors. We’ll select one senior to receive a $1,000 cash scholarship. Enter your video by 11:59 PM PST on May 24 to qualify.

Step One: Reality vs. Expectations

Think of your plans for your senior year. How has the reality differed from your vision for this milestone? What has been disappointing, exciting, or unexpected? How have you come to terms with the reality of the situation?

Step Two: Lights, Camera, Action!

Record a selfie video or upload an edited clip that answers the question: How has the coronavirus changed your senior year? Be as specific as possible. Your video can be up to 4 minutes long.

Step Three: Sign the Girls’ Voices Yearbook

When you’re finished recording, you’ll be asked to fill out our entry form and upload your video. THANK YOU–you’ve added your voice to the global Girls’ Voices Yearbook, documenting this historic moment.
